Day out with God…

I am currently blogging at Pacific Coffee Company at Vivo. Today’s my day out with God. I love my day-outs with God, coz apparently these are my most sane days, with no one to disturb(i mean me disturbing others) and it brings out the most comtemplative side of me.well, if you are thinking, does that side exist? Try putting a bug onto my clothes or my bag and you will get to see it.

Watched Prince Caspian in the morning. I think C.S Lewis is a genius. Using stories to illustrate biblical principles. Watch the show carefully and you will realise that there’s many things to learn from the show:

-Being patient to wait for Aslan to appear (Waiting for God’s timing)
-Trusting in Aslan’s deliverance (God’s promises)
-Not giving in to the tempters to revive the White Witch (Satan’s deception)
-Lucy being the only one who sees Aslan (Those who puts their faith will see God)

And much more to state if I want to. Wonderful story and show. The fighting scene was good too (though not as good as LOTR). Encouraged to watch. I will give 4 stars for it.

Spending time with God makes me think, makes me enjoy, makes me refreshed. The world is full of deception and treachery. Full of pushing factors. Makes you so disillusioned with life, makes you unsure of your identity and purpose.

Slowing myself down makes me realise that i need a higher being in my life to take control and to guide me along. No way i can do this alone! I need to depend on someone and that someone is Jesus.

A note abt Great Commission – I want to win the world for Jesus. Yup, that’s it. No “buts”!

Came back from camp with a new spirit and new zeal to serve God. But know that zeal is not enough, it takes character to finish whatever you have been called for. Indeed this camp have been very different from the previous camps. Its not just the accomodation, not just the food and place. But its more of the depth of the praise and worship atmosphere and the Presence of God dwelling amogst His people.

I have been much ministered to and refreshed by my Heavenly Father. I know I did not make a wrong choice to give my best in serving Him. In fact, serving Him is that best thing that can ever happen to me. Let me summarise what i really learn for the past 4 days.
1) One life to live – Maximise it!
2) If I give God my best for Him, He will give me His best for me.
3) If you are dead serious and desperate for something, there wouldn’t be terms like “far” and “sacrifice”
4) Be a banner, clear enough for Jesus to recognise you!

Camp is a time when our lives are touched by God, but after camp is when we go out there to touch lives FOR God. Today, wont you make a decision to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to walk the distance for Him, to touch lives for Him?

Warriors of West (W.O.W), 13 schools by end this year! Honestly, its not very difficult BUT it takes faith and hardwork. Pour out all your have for God.

Joshua 1:3-9 (New International Version)

3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Great Sea on the west. 5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
6 “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
1) Commited to give our best to serve God.(v3-6)
2) Commited to obey the Word of God.(v7-9)
Our destiny when we do these 2 things – We will be prosperous and successful. Amen!

hey everyone, i juz came back from student camp in Genting. Man, it was a “back to past” camp as the title of this post suggest. As i went thru first day of the camp, i was reminded of the first few times when i attended our own youth camp. its not the program and the size of the camp, but it was more of the living condition and the cleanliness. Not that i am complaining abt the camp, but more of the fact that this reminder of the past hit me hard.

In the past, the places we play games are muddy and the games are using physical exhaustive. The rooms we sleep in have no air-cons, its juz one big room with 20 plus beds in it with juz 4 ceiling fans. The food provided was economic rice (white rice with a meat dish, a vege dish and misc. dish) and plain water. For teachings, we were all seated in a fenced up place called “The Cage” and the only source of ventiliation is the wind.

Things were not as comfortable as now. But people were still excited to learn and receive from the camp. People were expectant of life transformation in the camp. People were still enjoying the dirty games. Because its never about the program. Its abt the heart.

My results!

Am grateful with His providence in this exams. Indeed the fact that i pass all my modules have been a miracle in itself.Thank God for His grace and help. Here’s my grades!

You never know how happy I am when i receive my results. I was near to tears. God makes sure that I am never alone.:)

spent the day out from morning to afternoon. went to accompany my auntie to hospital for some check-up. as i stepped in the hospital, the first thing that came to my mind was that it was 3 and half months ago since i last came here. the last time i went to the hospital was the time i rushed down in cab to try to see my grandma for the last time, but i didn’t make it in time. was reminded that life is just so fragile. din expect my grandma to go off so soon after my grandpa. after all these losses, i made up in my mind that i want to cherish my family. i want them to know God soon and very soon.

after my auntie’s check-up, she ask me,”what if she has cancer like my grandma?” I started to assure her and in me, i thought in my mind that i have God, but she does not. i need to share the Good News soon. I pray that God will give me an opportunity. when i reach home after the check up, spend my whole afternoon pouring over the internet and the notes to prepare for a “Self-image” workshop for the KL student camp. As i was preparing this lesson, i remembered that i used to be very insecure about my own self image and identity. always doing silly things to get attention and getting involved in things that i shld not. thinking back, it was really dumb and meaningless. Spent a total of 2 and half hous compiling the lesson.

at 730, i was supposed to meet up the mismatch team for a long awaited catch up.had a great time sharing with Jinqi abt her life in adults and some of her new thoughts that she had. after dinner, jasmine came to join us and we had a part 2 chatting session with jasmine and jacq. talked abt their grp stuff and shared abt some of conviction and growth point. the main thing was that we all knew that we couldn’t make it without God and that we needed God’s grace in our lives very much. Concluded that we need to grow together and to fulfill the Great Commission together.

Its great to have friends who are share the same conviction as you do. Serving God is never boring. Friends are there to understand and to depend on. Especially friends who follows God with their life. Thanks my friends! you know who you are!:)

am blogging here first time on wordpress. feels kinda weird. i’m back again coz tingting juz started this new acct for me and some people have been asking me abt my dead blog.therefore here I am – back to blogging.

backdate to 2 weeks ago – LC at Kota Kinnabalu

Beautiful scenery aside, i was really convicted by the passions and convictions that other Hope leaders all around the world has. I mean their beliefs are simply juz so contagious. One of the most convicting stories that I heard was the one with Derrick and Annie who starting a church somewhere in Central Asia which is not really receptive to the gospel. It is not the results that are heart-warming, but rather their spirit and attitude in serving. Derrick said something that really blew my mind away.

“If I dont use my youth to serve God, then when do I do it?”

I mean he wasn’t sharing with arrogance or what. It was the simplicity and the sincerity from the heart that really touches my heart. There are many other things that are shared as well. Ps PN shared abt the general concensus that he and the other leaders from other apostolic movements came to, that: The Great Commission is coming to pass in our lifetime. I mean this is serious stuff you know. Think with me, Ps PN is no longer a 20 yr old person like me. He is already 40 plus going 50 and if he says that the GC is coming to pass, THEN it is REALLY coming to pass soon and VERY SOON. This truth sank into my heart and a question kept popping up in my head. Shared this question to my DMM team and the Growing in Christ class as well.

If the Word of God is real, and if it says that Jesus is coming back for us the second time, then what are we going to do in response to this fact?

I told God simply – “I want to make impact in this world with your love.”

AFTER A LONG WEEK

2008 is finally here and Christmas and New year week is finally over. Now that I found the time to blog out my exciting week starting from 21st Dec till 31st Dec 2007.

21st Dec:
Preparation for Youth Cmas Party at Palawan Beach. It was juz one day before the Cmas party itself. Gideon and myself were very excited yet nervous for this party because I was the programming IC and I was very stressed out on what to do for the party and Gideon being the overall IC was anxious as well. We went to Sentosa to check out the stage and the tentage and etc. and also meet up with the 2 hosts (Dennis and Xiang). Everything was quite ok. Bingliang and his decor team was already there doing the decorations. We finalised all the details at Sentosa itself before I went to meet my sheep for shepherding at vivo.Gideon and me were supposed to stay over at Sentosa to look after the instruments but the set was not done yet therefore, Gideon came over to my house to stay. It was rather exciting as I dont usually have much interaction with Gideon. Kaien came to my house as well. We chit chatted and ordered Mac Delivery as well. Rested early for that day as it was Christmas Service the next day.

22nd Dec:
Gideon and I went down to Sentosa at around 9 to help out with the set up of the instruments. Thank God for Derrick and Amelia for sacrificing their sleep to transport down and set up the instruments for us. I went home to bathe after that to prepare for Christmas service. I muz say that I dressed quite nicely for the service. My classmate and my mum came for the Christmas service. It was a new experience becoz it was at a new place (Rock Audi) and it was grand. My classmate was really touched by the service as she teared when she remembered abt God’s goodness in her life. My mum enjoyed the service as well. I couldn’t stay long after the service as I had to rest down to Sentosa to get ready for everything for the Cmas Party. When we reached Sentosa, it was drizzling. We prayed to God for the rain to stopped as soon as the crowd floods in. And God is faithful, as soon as pockets of people streamed in, the rain became smaller and stopped. The Cmas party started off slowly and when it came to the games, the hype began to pick up as iPod Nano is up for grabs. After the games, the Youth really got “high” as they started running around and played with the Snow and Bubble Machine. All in all, I cant say that it was a very successful party but it definitely ended off high as no one wants to leave straight after the event. After the event, I rushed down straight to my army fren’s house for a BBQ. I really appreciate this bunch of frens as they would never forget me even though I always reject them due to my busy schedule. But they still make a point to celebrate my birthday with me!I had fun eating and drinking with them. It was a catch up session for some of us as well.

23rd Dec:
This day is more of a rest day for me as I had a whole stretch of overnite planned out in the upcoming few days.

24th Dec:
Woke up in the morning with great expectancy as it was another day nearing Christmas and my birthday. Left home to meet Shirls’ team for a time of celebration for my birthday. We met up at Serangoon and had our lunch at Tiamo Cafe. Shar could not make it as she was having her North outing at East Coast Park. The rest of us exchanged gifts and presents(if any). We had a quick meal together before heading to the Joo Seng CC for a time of Karaoke-ing session. The room that we had was kinda small. and 7 of us have to squeeze inside that small room. Most of them were not really familiar with singing Chinese songs. The session was ok. Basically we were laughing at one another.2 hrs later, I had to leave to meet my district as we are supposed to carol together. I rushed down to Kai’en’s house to meet up with the rest and I was greeted with a pleasant surprise. My group presented to me a 10 mins song presentation to tell me how much they loved me.Was really shy at that time. Then we continued to prepare for the carols. Can see that they people were really excited for the caroling session as most of them were first timers. Well, there’s always a first time for everything. They split into 2 different groups and places to carol. As for me, I was assigned to look after their bags for them. So sad. 2 hrs later, they came back to the playground to gather and the people were excited talking abt the caroling experience, talking abt how the house owners invited them into their house for food and giving them chocolates and stuff. I really believed that the people really enjoyed themselves. When it was approaching 11 pm, I left with some people and headed towards home to put my things and then to Vivo to catch a movie with some of my ex-sheep(Aaron, Gordon and Jerel) and some current west people. We caught Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was quite cute but i still fell asleep as i was really tired. After that, I walked home from Vivo….:)

25th Dec:
MY BIRTHDAY!It was really exciting as a whole day of things is lined up as well. In the morning, I went over to my own house to help out with some chores for my birthday party that was prepared by my family for me. My mom was really busy cooking and preparing the food. and guess what i did? My dad ask me to help him dye his hair black. Iwas thinking,”its my birthday and you ask me to do this?” but i did it nonetheless. During the process, Shuzhen was the one who reached my house the earliest. She was a bit shy. But shortly, Yan yan came as well. Junyao and Priscilla came shortly too. My relatives brought food and strolled in. And by the time dennis came in, there was already a spread on the table. The food frenzy started and i guessed they really enjoyed the food as they kept praising the quality of the food. Shirls was the latest to arrive at 3 plus. She enjoyed as well. And the last one to come was my very first shepherd in Hope – Sam Goh. Though now that he is not in Hope, he is still fervently serving in other churches. And that rounds it up, all my 4 ex and current shepherds were all up for my birthday party. Enjoyed every single one of them. All of us left around 5 plus as I had to leave for another celebration for me by the Mismatch people. I went to Vivo with Priscilla as I had to wait for Junyao to go home and prepare. We meet up again and started travelling to Jinqi’s house. Junyao and me was the first 2 to reach and I was a lil angry with Jasmine and Jacq as they were late. They arrived and we started our dinner which was cooked by Jinqi. the pasta was not bad at all.after feasting we headed to her room for a time of movies and sharing. They shared their affirmation for me and also thanksgiving for the yr 2007.Then we went to sleep.

26th Dec:
Woke up around 11 am at Jinqi’s place and rushed home for short bath before heading to Harbourfront for a birthday treat by the people from study CG (Debbie,Jesline and Junyao). They treated me to a Dim Sum buffet at Dragon gate restaurant. it was really a filling meal as we over-ordered. After that we went down to K ster at Lucky Chinatown to sing again(it seems that my life revolved around singing). I am glad to have this bunch of people studying with me, edging me on to give my best in my studies!I thank God for them in my life. After that, I went home to eat dinner. and Shar came down to find me as she missed my birthday celebration with Shirls’ team.We went to a coffee shop nearby my house and chatted for ard 3 hrs. I really enjoyed this kind of “talk over coffee” sessions. In this 3 hrs, i really got to know Shar more, her reaction and her point of view over certain issues. Went home to rest and recuperate after the session.

27th Dec:
woke up in the morning to get ready for West very first Sports Day. We were supposed to meet at CCK interchangeat 1130. Many people arrived late, but its ok. The units all arrived in their different unit colours. when we reach sunshine place (our sports venue), we were split up into teams to play each other. We had 3 different stations namely:Basketball, Captain’s ball and Touch ball. The people had fun and most of them got to know people from other units as well. I mean yup, that was my initial objective. During the free and easy time, the people sung me a birthday song again, this time with a cake.It was so sweet of them as I was not expecting anything coz my birthday was over. After the Sports event, my DMM team went to Sihui’s house to bathe and we headed to bugis for Fish & Co. They treated me to it!So nice rite? And here’s the ultimate..something that I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD!my district secretly gathered to make a video for me!I mean this is the killer man.the UL showed me the video, although i was laughing due to the crapiness of the video, my heart really melted to know that they put in such effort for me!After watching the video, we went into Bugis Village to buy our DMM COVENANT watch! So cool rite?the watches were all very nice and we managed to get a good price for it as well. as we parted, I headed to Daniel Cheah’s house for the last birthday celebration of the yr. Celebration with my Buddies (Daniel Cheah, Daryl, Ethan and Junyao). Upon reaching there, they were already there preparing food for me to enjoy. We had a time of watching movies and talking and eating. Though we din do much, I sincerely appreciate their presence in my life, their friendship and the effort to gather despite the busy-ness!

28th Dec:
Went home around 10 am from Daniel’s Place.reached home, prayed and orientated myself back to “life on earth” after so much celebrations. and this is where the start of a great blessing happened! As all of you know, I really like Maria Sharapova (tennis player) alot. I mean not that I idolise her, but i really like her. So all along i wanted to go for her exhibition match on the 30th Dec. I mean i even sent out 20 smses to join contest to win free tickets but to no avail. So i begin to sit down and converse with God. Heres the conversation:

DW:God, you know i really love you rite?

God: Yeah, I do!

DW: God, then you know i served you really hard this yr and sacrificed a number of things for you, rite?

God: Yes, my child…

DW:Then for a reward for all my hard work, can you pls allow me to go to watch Sharapova at Indoor Stadium

God:(no answer)

DW:pleaaassseeeee!!!!!

God: (no answer)

DW:ok God, i am not going to do anything more silly things to win any contest or anything. If you want me to go, I will be able to go for FREE!! In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

With this, I went to sleep for 2 hrs!and guess what?when i woke up, i checked my hp inbox, junyao smsed me;”Hey bro, I have got a pair of tickets to Maria’s match.”I was like SHOCKED!that’s not the end!later in the nite, Jasmine msn-ed me to tell me that her fren has tickets as well. That’s not the end!The next morning, Priscilla Tan offered to buy a ticket for me to go the match. and well if you think its the end, God loves to leave the best till the end. On SAT, my team gave me an ultimate surprise by passing me a pair of $180 tickets to me!God blessed, not juz thru 1, not 2 but 4 CHANNELS!i mean He’s really amazing. Thru this, i know God really loves and values me!Thank YOU GOD!

I really like her alot and i mean she was simply so gorgeous and glamourous!the match was really exciting and i enjoyed every single second of it!

there it is…my last 10 days of 2007….next up for blogging..thanksgiving for 2007…stay tuned!:)

Camp is over!

God had reminded me lots of things in this camp. Met my first camp objectives on the very first nite of the camp. God really knows me well. In the sense that He knew that He had to meet this objective first before He goes on to meet the others. Its like before you want to go into the your house, you first have to open the door kinda thingy. I think you know what I mean. Spoke to me like never before. Teared and cried almost every nite!

This camp brought us back to the foundations of loving God and serving God. I thot it was very timely as one of my main objective of this camp is to see the West Spiritual Renovation being completed by the last day of the camp. The teaching reminded us about the fundermentals of being christians and our attitudes towards serving God.

I believe one main thing that God spoke to me abt West is the area of COMMITTMENT! and one main thing that I was reminded is that Committment is not abt being together when times are smooth sailing and when everything goes well. But Committment is abt sticking it out together when tough times comes, when difficult period! THIS IS COMMITTMENT. So westlanders, are u COMMITTED to this West grp with me?

God, I know you are with this group. And i am proud to be part of this grp!

gotten back my results today. it wasn’t too good, neither was it too bad. it was just like average. But I am quite surprised that i did not do as well as i thot i would for the Commercial Law paper. well, i mean as i said, i will work harder for my next sem. no time to brood over this sem already…so here’s my results.

Macroeconomics -High Distinction
Management Accounting and Business – Distinction
Commercial Law – Pass
Marketing Principles – Credit

well, yup, i got a kind of grade each for my 4 papers. So interesting…

the second part of the blog is dedicated to one woman. dont misunderstand first, read on. This woman has greatly impacted my life with her faith and her visionary convictions. in her sight, she sees what God can do. she’s a great woman of God and she is one who never bows down to difficulties. she strongly believes in “with God, all things are possible.”many were blessed by her faith and challenges to serve the Lord.

Presenting to you:
